Jana Beckmann

Jana Beckmann (* 2. May 1983 in Magdeburg ) is a German marksman in trap shooting .

Life

She came to shoot in 1997 at the age of 14 on a shooting range in Schönebeck . In 1998 she took part in a competition for the first time. Four years later she started for the German national junior team. At the Junior European Championships in Lonato , Italy , she reached fifth place.

She studied occupational training and management at the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg . In 2010 she became the student world champion in trap singles .

Beckmann has competed in world championships several times since 2005 and achieved places among the top ten in the trap team. After achieving the bronze medal in this discipline in 2007, she became world champion in 2014. In the individual competition she was fourth in the same year.

The 1.70 meter tall Beckmann has also achieved success at European championships since 2006. After a third place in the trap team in 2009, she became European champion in 2010. In the individual competition she also achieved bronze. She started in the trap at the 2015 European Games and also at the 2016 Summer Olympics . There she reached 19th place in qualification.

Beckmann started at times for the SV Hubertus Schönebeck, since 2008 for the privileged shooting guild Nienburg (SGi Nienburg). Mostly she was trained by Axel Krämer.

Awards

In 2010 Beckmann was allowed to enter the Golden Book of the City of Magdeburg in recognition of her sporting success at the Student World Cup . Another entry was made in 2016 in honor of her participation in the Olympics.
