Alejandra Valencia (born October 17, 1994 in Hermosillo ) is a Mexican archer .

Career

Alejandra Valencia was born in 1994 to Elizabeth Trujillo and Francisco Valencia.

She won two gold medals at the 2011 Pan American Games in the team and individual standings. In 2011 she also won bronze in the World Youth Archery Championships. Valencia competed in the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio . In London , she lost the round of 16 in an individual competition at the age of 17. The Mexican team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Japan. In Rio de Janeiro , Valencia made it to the semi-finals, where they lost to the German Lisa Unruh . Then she also lost the match for the bronze medal against the Olympic champion from London, Ki Bo-bae , and finished fourth. In the team competition, Mexico was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
