Lisa Unruh (born April 12, 1988 in Berlin ) is a German archer .

life and career

Unruh has been competing internationally since 2006, and at the 2006 European Championships she took fourth place with the German team. After a second place with the team at the 2007 World Indoor Championships, she won the title in singles and bronze with the team at the 2007 European Championships in Bjelovar . In 2008 in Vittel the eighth place in the individual and the silver medal with the team followed.

After a few years without international medals, Unruh won bronze with the team at the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2012 . In 2014 EM silver followed with the team in Echmiadzin . In 2015 she won the European Indoor Championships in Koper with the team and received the bronze medal in the individual ranking. At the World Indoor Championships in 2016 she won the individual ranking in Ankara . She returned home from the European Championships in Nottingham in 2016 with two bronze medals, in the individual and in the team.

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio , she reached the final, in which she was defeated by the South Korean Chang Hye-jin . This silver medal was the first ever individual medal for a German archer at the Olympic Games. For this she was honored with the silver laurel leaf on November 1, 2016 by Federal President Gauck .

Unruh won the gold medal at the World Games 2017 in Wroclaw .

Unruh starts for the BSC BB-Berlin . In addition to the Olympic sport with the recurve bow, Unruh also competes in other disciplines, for example she was world champion in field archery in Zagreb in 2014 for the Lower Saxony “SV Loccum ”.
