Igor Wandtke

Igor Wandtke (born November 3, 1990 in Lübeck ) is a German judoka who competes in the weight class up to 73 kg.

Wandtke won the German championship title in 2012, 2014, 2017 and 2018. In 2012 he also won the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships. In 2013 Wandtke won the European Cup in London and the Grand Prix in Quingdao, and at the 2013 World Championships he and the team received the bronze medal. In 2015 he won the World Cup in Cluj and finished second in the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi. Wandtke competed in the 2016 Olympic Games and lost to Sagi Muki from Israel in the round of 16 . At the 2017 World Championships , he lost in the first round. In 2018, he finished fifth at the Grand Slam in Paris and Düsseldorf. With the team of the German Judo Association (DJB), Igor Wandtke became team European champion in Yekaterinburg, Russia on July 18, 2018. At the Grand Prix in Tashkent on November 10, 2018, Wandtke came second. Half a year later, he took third place at the Grand Prix in Hohot (China). On October 25, 2019, Igor Wandtke won a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi . At the Oceania Open in Perth (Australia) Igor Wandtke came second a week later on November 3, 2019.

Wandtke starts for the judo team Hanover and in the 1st German Judo Bundesliga for KSV Esslingen.
