Luise Malzahn

Luise Malzahn (born June 9, 1990 in Halle / Saale ) is a German judoka who mostly competes in the U78 weight class. She is a multiple German champion and medalist at international championships.

Luise Malzahn starts from 2004 to 2006 in the U70 weight class and won in this class in 2006 at the European Cadet Championships. In 2007 she moved to the U78 weight class and finished fifth at the Junior World Championships in 2008, and in 2009 she received the bronze medal. In 2011 she won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Istanbul . After several years without an international medal, Luise Malzahn won the silver medal at the European Games in Baku in 2015 both individually and with the team . Two months later she won bronze in the individual and with the team at the World Championships in Astana . In 2016 there were two more bronze medals at the European Championships in Kazan . At the 2016 Olympic Games , she finished fifth.

In 2018 she was eliminated from the World Championships in Baku in her first fight against the Dutch Marhinde Verkerk . In 2019 she won another German championship title after four years.

Luise Malzahn starts for SV Halle , her older sister Claudia Malzahn was a member of the German Olympic team in 2012.
