Julia Harting , b. Fischer , (born April 1, 1990 in Berlin ) is a German athlete .
Athletic career
Julia Harting started throwing the discus in 2004 , she starts for SC Charlottenburg and trains with Werner Goldmann , who also looks after Robert Harting . In 2007 she won the title at the 5th U18 World Championships in Ostrava with fourteen centimeters ahead of the Croatian Sandra Perković , in 2008 she finished second at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, 27 centimeters behind the Chinese Xi Shangxue . At the U20 European Championships in Novi Sad in 2009 , Harting also finished second, with a gap of over seven meters on Sandra Perković, who had been just behind her at the U20 World Championships the year before . At the U23 European Championships in Ostrava, she won after increasing her personal best to 59.60 m with a three-meter lead over Belarusian Nastassja Kaschtanawa .
On May 12, 2012 Julia Harting improved in Wiesbaden to 64.22 m and exceeded the qualification standard for the Olympic Games in London . At the German athletics championships in 2012 in Wattenscheid, she took second place behind Nadine Müller from Halle. At the European Championships in Helsinki in 2012 , Harting threw the discus to 62.10 m and thus achieved fifth place. Shortly thereafter, she retired from qualifying at the Olympic Games in London.
Julia Harting set her personal best in the discus throw on May 21, 2016 in Halle / Saale with 68.49 m at the 42nd Halle Throwing Days.
At the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 , she won the silver medal with 65.77 m.

With a height of 1.92 m, Julia Harting has ideal conditions for throwing a discus.
She is a police chief in the federal police.
She has been married to discus thrower Robert Harting since September 16, 2016 . She gave birth to twins in May 2019.
