Felipe Eidji Kitadai (born July 28, 1989 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian judoka . He fights in the weight class up to 60 kilograms.

Career

Kitadai is a member of Sociedade de Ginástica Porto Alegre (SOGIPA) and has been a member of the Brazilian judo team since 2008. In July 2009 he won the title at the Jogos da Lusofonia in Lisbon. The following year he won the World Cup in Rome, defeating the only three-time Olympic champion in judo, Tadahiro Nomura .

In 2011 and 2012 he won the Pan American Championships, in 2011 also the gold medal at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara.

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 he won the bronze medal - on the day of his 23rd birthday - which he broke two days later as a result of a joke with friends. The IOC decided to replace the medal at the request of the National Olympic Committee of Brazil . Kitadai took seventh place at the 2016 Olympic Games .
