Alexandra Wenk (born February 7, 1995 in Munich- Alt-Perlach) is a German swimmer . She is the reigning German champion over 50 meters and 100 meters butterfly and with the team of SG Stadtwerke München German team champion over 4 × 100 meter freestyle. In addition, she is the German record holder for the 100 meter butterfly with a time of 57.77 seconds.

Life

Alexandra Wenk came to swim through her mother Gabriele Wenk-Baka . When she was 13 she won her first championship.

Wenk celebrated her greatest international success to date at the European Championships in Debrecen in 2012 when she won the European title in the 4 × 100 meter medley. This also qualified her for the Summer Olympics in London .

At the 2015 World Championships in Kazan, she swam in the semi-finals of the 100 m butterfly German record with 57.77 seconds. This was the first time she entered a World Cup final. She won the bronze medal with the German 4 × 100 m individual relay relay. At the 2015 European Short Course Championships in Netanya , she won the bronze medal over the 100 m butterfly in a new German record time of 56.43 s. At the German Championships in 2016 , she improved the almost 35-year-old German record of Ute Geweniger over 200 m medley in 2: 11.41 minutes , as well as her own from the previous year over 100 m butterfly in 57.70 s.

In 2009 and 2011 Alexandra Wenk was named young swimmer of the year. Wenk is currently starting for SG Neukölln Berlin.
