The 127th German Swimming Championships took place from April 9th to 12th, 2015 for the 12th time in a row in the swimming and diving hall in the Europa Sportpark Berlin and were organized by the German Swimming Association . The competition also served as a qualifying competition for the 2015 World Championships in Kazan .
Attendees
The 100 fastest swimmers and relay teams in Germany (open class) of the current season (September 1, 2014 up to and including March 22, 2015) were eligible to participate. In addition, there was a separate rating for the EYOF age groups (female: age group 2000/2001 and male: age group 1999/2000), in which the 20 fastest young athletes of each gender were allowed to participate. 901 participants from 182 clubs with 2,226 individual starts and 164 relays were registered for the four days of the competition. The only foreign club was the Princeton University Swim Club ( USA ), for which Julian Alexander Mackrel started, because German citizens in foreign clubs were also allowed to start. Anna Metzler started with a special permit not for a swimming club, but for the German Swimming Association.
Records
3 new German records were set: all with the club relay: 4 × 200 m freestyle, female (SSG Saar Max Ritter) and 4 × 100 m freestyle, mixed (SG Dortmund). In a separate record attempt over 4 × 100 m back, the female relay of SV Halle (Saale) swam a new German record in 4: 14.98 minutes (Mandy Feldbinder, Lia Neubert, Annabell Möritz, Laura Riedemann).
Furthermore, 11 German age class records were improved: 200 m and 400 m medley (both Johannes Hintze , each in the preliminary and final), 50 m back ( Anna Dietterle , in the preliminary and final), 50 m freestyle (Anna Dietterle), 200 m medley ( Maxine Wolters ), 100 m butterfly ( Paulus Schön , in the preliminary and final) and 1500 m freestyle ( Leonie Antonia Beck ).
