Alexander Kunert (born January 31, 1996 in Freyung ) is a German swimming athlete who specializes in butterfly and freestyle swimming. He is German champion 2015 + 2016 over 200 m dolphin. In 2018 Kunert became German short course champion over 200 m dolphin, 200 m freestyle and 100 m butterfly, as well as third over 50 m dolphin.

In 2014, Kunert was European youth champion in Dordrecht with the German 4 × 200-meter freestyle relay and vice European champion with the 4 × 100-meter mixed relay relay. In the individual race over 200 m butterfly he took 3rd place. A year earlier at the same event in Poznan he was third with the 4 × 100-meter freestyle and the 4 × 100-m freestyle mixed relay.

In the senior class, he took 3rd place over 100 m dolphin and 4th over 200 m at the German Short Course Championships 2013 . A year later it was second and third in Wuppertal. At the German Swimming Championships in 2014 , he missed the podium over 200 m by one place and came fourth. For this he won the title over 200 m butterfly in 1: 57.36 min at the DM 2015 in Berlin. and succeeded Robin Backhaus .
