Otto Friedrich von Tempsky

Otto Friedrich von Tempsky (born November 19, 1706 , † November 19, 1773 in Schildberg near Soldin ) was a Prussian colonel , commander of the "Kowalski" garrison regiment and commander of a grenadier battalion in the Seven Years' War .

Life

origin

He was the third son of the heir to Oberschreibersdorf bei Laubau, Karl Joseph von Tempsky († 1739) and his first wife Elisabeth Erdmuth, born von Tschirnhaus († 1714) from the Häselich family .

Military career

Tempsky first went to Electoral Saxony , then to Württemberg service . There he rose to become captain . With the beginning of the First Silesian War he went into Prussian service in 1740 . He came as a captain in the "von Thümen" garrison regiment . During the Silesian Wars he took part in the fighting on the Rhine .

During the Seven Years' War Tempsky came on December 28, 1758 as a major in the infantry regiment "Jung-Braunschweig" . In 1760 he was given command of the grenadier battalion "Görne". The battalion consisted of the grenadier companies of the regiments "Jung-Braunschweig" and "von Finck" . At Domstadel Tempsky was wounded and captured, but then exchanged again. He also fought at Hohengiersdorf, Regenwalde, Spie, Altenburg and Pegau, in 1758 he was also at the siege of Neisse .

After the war he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on June 16, 1765 and to colonel on June 10, 1770. Due to his age, Tempsky was transferred to the "Kowalski" garrison regiment as a commander. He died on November 19, 1773 in Schildberg in the Neumark.

Tempsky was married twice. His first wife was Helene Tugendreich von Rotenburg († October 2, 1756) from the Rotenburg family . The couple had eight sons and one daughter, of whom:

On June 20, 1764 he married Friederike Karoline Rolla du Rosey († April 5, 1793) from the Schildberg family . With her he had six daughters and one son, including:
