The 92nd German Swimming Championships took place from June 5th to 8th, 1980 in the Olympic swimming pool in Munich . The title fights were supposed to serve as a qualifying competition for the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow , but the athletes from the Federal Republic of Germany were not allowed to take part because of the Olympic boycott.
