Margin notes
Kamil Kasprowicz was disqualified in the run-up to the 200 m medley because of an illegal turn and can no longer qualify for the Olympic Games.
In order to qualify the men's 4 x 100 meter medley relay for the Olympics, the DSV changed the tender so that a DSV selected team can also be entered for the 4 x 100 meter medley competition. The attempt with the German champions over the 100 m individual courses Helge Meeuw , Johannes Neumann , Thomas Rupprath and Steffen Deibler failed because the relay did not achieve the required time of 3: 36.85 minutes with a time of 3: 37.29 minutes . At the end of April, the sports director of the DSV Örjan Madsen announced that the DSV in Beijing would dispense with a male medley relay. This means that only in the other five relay competitions (each 4 × 100 m and 4 × 200 m outdoor style for women and men and 4 × 100 positions for women) German relay teams are at the start.
