The TV Jahn Wolfsburg is a sports club from Wolfsburg . The club was founded in 1954 as a pure gymnastics club .
The club is divided into 40 sports. Swimming department
TV Jahn Wolfsburg achieved its greatest successes with the swimmers, where the club's women's relay team took eighth place at the 2018 German Championships over 4 × 100 m freestyle.
The club's most successful swimmer was the 15-time German champion Janne Schäfer . She was four times European champion over 50 m breaststroke , three times on the short course and twice European champion with the German layer relay .
Former ice hockey department
In 1971 the SEC Wolfsburg , which had played in the ice rink at the Pferdeturm in Hanover - there was no ice rink in Wolfsburg at that time - joined the TV Jahn Wolfsburg. From 1973 the team of TV Jahn played in Altenau . She played at times in the Regional and rose for the season 1981/82 in the league , with the last games were held in Braunschweig. After the season, the club went bankrupt. The association was re-established and in 1984 moved into the newly built Wolfsburg Ice Palace . In 1986 the ice hockey department was outsourced as ESC Wolfsburg . Today's Grizzlys Wolfsburg , which play in the German Ice Hockey League , emerged from his fan club, Grizzly Adams .
