The FV Biberach is a football club with around 350 members from Biberach an der Riss .
history
The club was founded in 1970 as a merger of FC Wacker Biberach, founded in 1925, with the football department of TG Biberach . The TG Biberach, which was founded in 1900 and joined the Biberach game association in 1949 , was the more successful of the two clubs. In 1963 the TG rose to the Black Forest Bodenseeliga for the first time , which was the highest German amateur class at the time, but rose again immediately in 1964.
After the merger, the club's most successful period began. In 1971 the FV was third in the Black Forest Bodenseeliga and qualified for the Württemberg elimination game for the German Amateur Championship . In 1978 he qualified for the newly founded Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , to which he belonged continuously until 1986. After the temporary relegation to the state league, the FV Biberach, as champion of the Württemberg association league , once again made it to the top division in 1994.
After relegation in 1999 and the club's bankruptcy in December 2002, FV Biberach slipped into the district league. After intermittent seasons in the association and regional league, the Biberach team has been playing in the district league again since the 2017/18 season.
