Christian Kubusch (born April 26, 1988 in Gera ) is a former German swimmer .

Christian Kubusch started for SC Magdeburg , before he started for SV Gera . At the German Championships in Berlin in 2008 , he won the 800 and 1500 m freestyle titles. Kubusch qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , but could not reach the finals there in the 400 m and 1500 m freestyle or in the 200 m relay competition. At the European Championships in Budapest in 2010 , Kubusch won the silver medal behind the French Sébastien Rouault in the 800 m freestyle. He improved the German record held by himself to 7: 49.12 minutes. After moving to Potsdam, Kubusch ended his professional career in 2012.

Kubusch was a member of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group. He studied international management at the University of Magdeburg and at the University of Potsdam for teaching.
