Maxine Wolters (born May 25, 1999 ) is a young German swimmer . She won the gold medal in the 200 meter medley at the 2015 European Youth Swimming Championships .

Career

The daughter of the 1992 Olympian Marion Zoller , married Wolters, learned to swim at the age of nine. Since 2013 she has been swimming and training at the Olympic Training Center in Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein together with Steffen Deibler and Jacob Heidtmann in a training group. This includes a tightly packed and strenuous daily program. Nevertheless, she managed to be recognized as an elite student by the Hamburg school senator Ties Rabe in 2015 .

She has been a member of the perspective team of the German Swimming Association since 2014 .

At the German Swimming Championships in 2014 , Wolters finished fifth in the final over 200 meters in 2: 17.48 minutes; The winner here was Theresa Michalak (2: 13,16).

They saw the German short course championships of the same year in the same discipline in 2: 11.52 minutes on the bronze rank behind Alexandra Wenk (2: 10.50) and just behind Julia Leidgebel (2: 11.39).

At the 2015 European Games in Baku , the capital of Azerbaijan , Wolters won the 200 meter medley in 2: 13.37 minutes ahead of an Italian and a British woman. She also achieved silver in the 200 meters back (2: 11.38 min) and three fourth places, over 50 meters back in the individual race and with the 4 × 100-meter freestyle and the 4 × 100-meter relay.

At the German Short Course Championships in 2015 , she again took bronze, over 100 meters back in 59.42 s (age class record) behind Jenny Mensing (58.50) and Katarzyna Baranowska (59.36). She finished fifth over her special 200 meter medley course.
