Helen Grobert (born April 11, 1992 in Filderstadt ) is a former German cyclist .

Athletic career

Grobert grew up in Remetschwiel in the Hotzenwald . After attending the vocational college in Waldshut she went at the age of 16 years from Freiburg to Sportinternat and made at the Social Sciences School, the University student . After a short time she broke off a degree that she had started and has been training with the Bundeswehr sports promotion group in Todtnau -Fahl since then .

Sports career

In September 2010 she was third of the junior women at the Mountain Bike World Championships in Mont Sainte-Anne in Canada . At the 2011 Mountain Bike World Championships she was fourth in the U23 class.

After Grobert became German U23 champion in the mountain bike cross country discipline in 2012 and 2013 , she won the championship title in this category in her first season with the 2015 Elite. This season, she also won the overall ranking of the MTB Bundesliga of the Association of German Cyclists and took tenth place in the overall ranking of the Mountain Bike Cross Country World Cup .

2016 Summer Olympics

In 2016 she took part in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , where she came in 12th as the best German in Rio de Janeiro on August 21.

On March 10, 2018, Helen Grobert recorded the best World Cup result of her career as fourth in Stellenbosch, South Africa. In June, the then 26-year-old announced her withdrawal from professional sport for health reasons.

Doping ban 2020

In an award of March 31, 2020, the German Sports Arbitration Court ruled Helen Grobert for a violation of anti-doping regulations under Article 2.1 of the BDR Anti-Doping Code due to the presence of the prohibited substance testosterone in the urine sample of November 15, 2017 for four years to lock. The arbitral tribunal followed the application of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). The suspension begins on March 24, 2018, taking into account the provisional suspension, and ends on March 23, 2022.
