Sven Knipphals
Sven Knipphals (born September 20, 1985 in Hanover ) is a former German sprinter .
career path
Knipphals studied chiropractic at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth and graduated in 2013 with the title Master of Chiropractic . Since then he has been working as a chiropractor in Leipzig.
Athletic career
Sven Knipphals was third in the 200-meter run at the 2010 German Indoor Championships . In 2011 he was third over 200 meters and fourth over 100 meters outdoors . In 2012, Knipphals took second place over 200 meters indoors and fourth outdoors. At the European Championships in Helsinki in 2012 , Knipphals was eliminated in the intermediate run when he missed the final by two hundredths of a second. He was nominated for the 2012 Olympic Games as a substitute for the German 4 x 100 meter relay . At the 2013 World Championships in Moscow , he finished fourth with Lucas Jakubczyk , Julian Reus and Martin Keller in 38.04 seconds. At the 2014 European Championships in Zurich , he was eliminated again in the intermediate run over 100 meters. In the season he won the silver medal with Julian Reus, Alexander Kosenkow and Lucas Jakubczyk. At the 2015 World Championships in Beijing he was fourth in the relay together with Reus, Kosenkow and Aleixo-Platini Menga . At the 2016 European Championships in Amsterdam he won the bronze medal with the relay.
In the summer of 2018, he ended his athletics career with a big party and a final race in the home stadium in Wolfsburg.
Knipphals is 1.90 m tall and started for VfL Wolfsburg .
