Leonie Rebekka Maier (born September 29, 1992 in Stuttgart ) is a German soccer player who has been under contract with Arsenal Women FC since 2019 and plays for the national team.

Career

Leonie Maier began her career at the age of seven at TV Aldingen . With a special permit from the Württemberg Football Association , she was allowed to play in a boys' team up to the B-youth of JSG Remseck . In January 2009 Maier moved to the second division VfL Sindelfingen . After she was second in the table behind Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the 2009/10 season with her team , Maier moved to Bundesliga club SC 07 Bad Neuenahr. She made her Bundesliga debut on August 15, 2010 (1st matchday) in a 4-3 home win against SGS Essen ; she scored her first Bundesliga goal on August 22, 2010 (2nd matchday) in a 3-0 win in the away game against Hamburger SV with the goal to make it 1-0 in the 80th minute. For Bad Neuenahr she was used in 65 Bundesliga games, nine cup games and five times in the Bundesliga Cup.

In February 2013 Maier signed a contract with FC Bayern Munich that ran until June 30, 2015. She played her first Bundesliga game for FC Bayern Munich on September 7, 2013 (1st matchday) in a 1-1 away game against German champions VfL Wolfsburg . In the second leg on February 26, 2014 (12th matchday), she scored her first goal for Bayern in a 3-1 win with the goal to make it 1-1 in the 6th minute.
