Frankenförde is a part of the municipality Nuthe-Urstromtal in the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg .

Geographical location

The surrounding districts, communities and cities are (clockwise, starting in the north): Nettgendorf and Gottsdorf (Nuthe-Urstromtal) , Luckenwalde , Zinna Monastery , Felgentreu (Nuthe-Urstromtal) and Zülichendorf .

history

Origin of name

The ending -förde should mean something like ford and indicate that Charlemagne is said to have crossed the swampy areas of the region in the war against the Wende .

Early history

The place was first mentioned in 1285 when it came from Luckenwalde Castle into the possession of the Zinna Monastery in Jüterbog . In about 1300, the established church a stone church .

Incorporation

Frankenförde was incorporated into the new municipality of Nuthe-Urstromtal on December 6, 1993.

• The Frankenförde village church is a stone church from around 1300. Inside there is a pulpit altar from the 18th century and a gallery from around 1700.

Economy, politics and infrastructure

In addition to the municipal administration, there is an agricultural cooperative, a mink farm, a driving school, an asparagus farm, a butcher's shop, several craftsmen and small businesses and providers of accommodation for tourists.

The district road 7218 leads in a west-east direction from Felgentreu to the country road 80 and from there to Luckenwalde. Via the street Zum Pfefferfließ there is a connection to Gottsdorf in the north and via the Zülichendorfer Landstraße to the northeast towards Zülichendorf. and the transport company Teltow-Fläming connects the district with the 755 line to Luckenwalde and Kemnitz.
