Frankenförde is a part of the municipality Nuthe-Urstromtal in the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg .

Geographical location

The surrounding districts, communities and cities are (clockwise, starting in the north): Nettgendorf and Gottsdorf (Nuthe-Urstromtal) , Luckenwalde , Zinna Monastery , Felgentreu (Nuthe-Urstromtal) and Zülichendorf .

history

Origin of name

The ending -förde should mean something like ford and indicate that Charlemagne is said to have crossed the swampy areas of the region in the war against the Wende .

Early history

The place was first mentioned in 1285 when it came from Luckenwalde Castle into the possession of the Zinna Monastery in Jüterbog . In about 1300, the established church a stone church .

Incorporation

Frankenförde was incorporated into the new municipality of Nuthe-Urstromtal on December 6, 1993.

Economy, politics and infrastructure
