The village of Kemnitz has been one of 23 districts of the Nuthe-Urstromtal community in the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg since 1993 . The place with 111 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011) is ten kilometers northwest of Luckenwalde .

history

The settlement was built on a Slavic rampart . The first documentary mention comes from the year 1295, when Heydrenricus von Trebbin sold the place to the Zinna monastery in 1295 . There it appeared as Gemnitz , from 1303 Kemnitz . In the Thirty Years War the place was largely destroyed; the only remaining resident was the Lehnschulze . From 1684, however, 22 farms have come down to us again.

Kemnitz was incorporated into the new Nuthe-Urstromtal community on December 6, 1993.
