Leevan Sands (born August 16, 1981 in Nassau ) is a Bahamian triple jumper .

In 1999 he finished sixth at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg .

Sands won the bronze medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester and the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was eliminated in qualification.

Leevan Sands finished fourth at the 2005 World Cup in Helsinki . In February 2006, he was positive for the stimulant Levomethamphetamin tested and because of this violation of the doping banned guidelines for six months.

In 2007 he was sixth at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro and failed in qualifying at the 2007 World Cup in Osaka. The following year, Sands won the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in an even competition with his personal record of 17.59 meters, 8 cm behind Nelson Évora and 3 cm behind Phillips Idowu (GBR). At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, he was fourth, and at the 2011 World Cup in Daegu seventh. In 2012, he finished fifth at the London Olympics .

In 2015 he won silver at the Pan American Games in Toronto .
