Peruth Chemutai (born July 10, 1999 ) is a Ugandan obstacle runner .

Athletic career

Peruth Chemutai gained her first international experience at the Commonwealth Youth Games 2015 in Apia , where she won the silver medal in the 1,500 meter run , as well as the 3,000 meters, with a time of 4: 18.22 minutes . The following year she was seventh in 9: 49.29 min at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz and qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated with 9: 31.03 min in qualification . At the 2017 World Cross Country Championships in Kampala , she was seventh in the U20 classification in 19:29 min and secured the bronze medal in the team classification. In August she took part in the World Championships in London and did not reach the final there with 9: 43.04 min . In 2018 she won the silver medal at the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 9: 18.87 minutes. Then she was fifth at the African Championships in Asaba in 9: 45.42 min, as well as at the 2019 World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus with 36:49 min in the adult class.
