Macedonia took part under the name of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in the 2004 Summer Olympics in the Greek capital Athens with ten athletes, three women and seven men.

It was Macedonia's third participation in the Summer Olympic Games since 1996 .

Flag bearer

The basketball player Blagoja Georgievski carried the flag of Macedonia during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .
