Hanna Anatolijiwna Kasjanowa , née Melnytschenko , ( Ukrainian Ганна Анатоліївна Касьянова (Мельниченко) ; born April 24, 1983 in Tbilisi ) is a Ukrainian heptathlete .

Athletic career

Melnytschenko played her first heptathlon in 2002 and reached 5083 points. In her second competition in July 2003, she won the Ukrainian championship with 5523 points. In 2006 it exceeded the 6000 point mark for the first time in Arles with 6055 points; at the European Championships in 2006 , she finished 16th with 5942 points. After a tenth place at the European Indoor Championships in 2007 , she improved her personal best to 6143 points at the European Cup in Szczecin. At the 2007 World Championships , she gave up in the first discipline.

In 2008 she exceeded her previous best performance in all six competitions, with the highest number of points she achieved in July in Kiev with 6348 points. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 she was 14th with 6165 points. In 2009, she climbed to 6445 points with a second place at the Götzis all- around meeting . At the 2009 World Championships , she reached sixth place with 6414 points. In 2010, she only exceeded the 6000 point mark twice in six heptathletes; at the European Championships , after three invalid attempts in the long jump, she no longer competed in the final 800-meter run.

She finished seventh at the 2012 World Indoor Championships and tenth at the London Olympics . In March 2013 she won the bronze medal in the pentathlon at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, with 4604 points. In August 2013 she was heptathlon world champion in Moscow with 6586 points . However, all three medalists in the heptathlon at the London 2012 Olympics were absent due to injuries.

On October 18, 2014, she married the Ukrainian decathlete Oleksiy Kasyanow . She was registered at the 2015 World Championships , but did not start.

doping

Kasyanova was banned from the IAAF for the period from May 22, 2017 to February 21, 2018 due to a positive doping test outside of the competition in April 2017 .
