Elena Vladimirovna Prokhorova

Jelena Wladimirowna Prokhorova ( Russian Елена Владимировна Прохорова ; English transcription Yelena Prokhorova ; born April 16, 1978 in Kemerovo ) is a Russian heptathlete .

Her best performance of 6765 points comes from July 2000. In September at the Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney she took silver with 6531 points behind Denise Lewis (GBR) and before Natallja Sasanowitsch (BLR).

In 2001 she won silver at the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon in the pentathlon with 4711 points behind Natallja Sasanowitsch. In the summer at the World Championships in Edmonton , she won the gold medal with 6694 points ahead of Sasanowitsch, who won silver with 6539 points.

At the European Indoor Championships in 2002 , she won the pentathlon with 4622 points. At the 2003 World Championships , she was fourth with 6452 points.

At her second Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 , she finished fifth (6289 points).

Of 4 October 2005 to 3 October 2006, she was the world athletics federation IAAF for a doping offense blocked for competitions.

Jelena Prokhorova is 1.73 m tall and has a competition weight of 59 kg.
