Karin Ertl

Karin Ertl (née Specht; born June 23, 1974 in Immenstadt im Allgäu ) is a former German pentathlon and heptathlete .

She achieved her greatest successes in indoor pentathlon competitions - with victory at the European Indoor Championships in 2000 and the bronze medal at the 2001 World Indoor Championships . This was mainly due to their weakness in javelin throwing , which prevented major international success in the open air.

In 2001 she was the winner of the European Heptathlon Cup, in 1999 and 2001 she was German champion in the heptathlon. At the end of 2007, she announced her retirement from the sport.

Karin Ertl initially belonged to the sports club TV Immenstadt , later to the clubs LG Sempt , LAC Quelle Fürth / Munich 1860 and LG Regensburg . With a height of 1.77 m, she had a competition weight of 67 kg. Karin Ertl has been married to Christian Ertl since April 1999 and is the mother of two sons (* 2003 and * 2008) and a daughter (* 2011).
