Iryna Oleksandriwna Novoschylova ( Ukrainian Ірина Олександрівна Новожилова , English transcription Iryna Novozhylova ; born January 7, 1986 in Shostka , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian hammer thrower and three-time Olympic participant.

Athletic career

In 2005 Iryna Novoschylowa took part in the junior championships in Kaunas , Lithuania , where she reached sixth place. Two years later she was seventh at the 2007 U23 European Championships . At the Olympic Games 2008 she was eliminated with 68.11 meters as 14th of the qualification, as well as at the World Championships in Berlin in 2009 and the Olympic Games in 2012 in London .

In 2013 she took tenth place at the World Student Games in Kazan . In 2014 she was able to qualify for the first time to participate in the European Championships in Zurich , but did not make it to the finals there. In 2015 she was eliminated again in qualifying for the World Championships in Beijing . In 2016 she finished eighth at the European Championships in Amsterdam . At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , her third from qualification followed .
