Illja Olehowytsch Kwascha ( Ukrainian Ілля Олегович Кваша ; English Illya Kvasha ; born March 5, 1988 in Mykolaiv , Ukrainian SSR , USSR ) is a Ukrainian water diver and three-time Olympic athlete (2008, 2012, 2016). He has been taking part in international competitions since 2006 and competes in the disciplines of 1 m and 3 m board as well as 3 m synchronized jumping.

Career

His greatest success so far was winning the bronze medal in the 3 m synchronous competition at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing with his partner Olexij Pryhorow . In the individual from the 3 m board, he also reached 15th place.

He also won several medals at European Swimming Championships . In 2008 in Eindhoven he won gold from the 1 m board and silver from the 3 m board, in 2009 in Turin he repeated the gold and silver medal and also won gold in synchronized jumping with Pryhorow. He also won two gold medals in Budapest in 2010 , this time in the individual from the 1 m board and in the 3 m synchronized jumping. In 2011 he won another silver medal from the 1m board in Turin.

In London he won the 2016 European Swimming Championships in diving from the 1 m board and took third place on the 3 m board as well as in synchronized jumping together with Oleksandr Horschkowosow .
