Oksana Hryhorivna Okunjewa ( Ukrainian Оксана Григорівна Окунєва ; born March 14, 1990 in Mykolaiv , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian high jumper .

Athletic career

In 2007 Oksana Okunjewa took part in the Youth World Championships in Ostrava and took sixth place there, as well as at the 2009 Junior European Championships in Novi Sad . In the 2011 indoor season, she finished seventh in the final of the European Indoor Championships . She won the silver medal at the 2011 U23 European Athletics Championships and finished eighth at the Summer Universiade in the same year.

In 2012 she qualified for the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul , where she failed to qualify, as well as the 2013 World Championships in Moscow. In 2014 she finished sixth at the European Championships . At the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, she failed again in the qualifying round .

At the European Championships in 2016 , she landed in 6th place with a jump height of 1.89 m. This was followed by participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where they missed the final of the top twelve. In 2017, she achieved fourth place in the final at the European Indoor Championships with a jump of 1.92 m. In the summer of 2017, she was eliminated from the qualification at the World Championships in London with a height of 1.89 m . Two weeks later she won the title at the Universiade in Taipei with 1.97 m .

So far she has been Ukrainian outdoor champion six times and indoor champion four times.
