Vitaly Mykolaiowytsch Butrym ( Ukrainian Віталій Миколайович Бутрим ; born January 10, 1991 in Boromlya , Sumy Oblast , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian sprinter .

Athletic career

At the European Athletics U23 Championships 2013 in Tampere , he won the silver medal in the 400-meter run . At the 2013 World Championships in Moscow , he took part in the 4 x 400-meter relay run for Ukraine and at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing , he took part in the 400-meter run , but was unsuccessful in both competitions.

He was also a participant in the 400-meter run competition at the Olympic Games in London in 2012 and in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 . Also in 2016 he competed in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the 2016 European Championships in Amsterdam . At the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade in 2017 , he reached 5th place in the 4 x 400 meter relay with the Ukrainian team and was eliminated in the first round of the individual competition. A year later he qualified for the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , where he was eliminated again in the prelim over 400 meters.

His best times in the 400-meter run are so far 45.01 s, which he ran on July 25, 2015 in Almaty and 46.45 s in the hall, which he ran on February 18, 2018 in Istanbul .
