Olha Olexandriwna Lyachowa ( Ukrainian Ольга Олександрівна Ляхова , English transcription Olha Lyakhova; born March 18, 1992 in Rubischne ) is a Ukrainian athlete who competes over 400 meters as well as over 800 meters.

Athletic career

In 2009, Olha Ljachowa took seventh place at the World Youth Championships in Brixen over 800 meters. 2010 then followed the first round at the Junior World Championships in Moncton , Canada , as well as at the Junior European Championships in Tallinn the following year .

In 2013 she finished fifth at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg . At the U23 European Championships in Tampere she won the silver medal over 800 meters and was fourth with the relay. She also qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated in the individual competition in the preliminary round and finished fifth with the relay. In 2014 she was eliminated again in the preliminary round of the World Indoor Championships in Sopot . At the European Championships in Zurich , she won the silver medal with the Ukrainian relay. In 2015 she was part of the Ukrainian relay, which reached sixth place at the World Championships in Beijing . This time she reached the semi-finals over 800 meters . In 2016, she qualified for participation in the Olympic Games , but failed there over 800 meters in the preliminary round.

In 2017 she qualified for the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade . Over 800 meters she was eliminated in the preliminary round and with the relay she won the bronze medal. At the World Student Games in Taiwan, she later won the gold medal over 800 meters after the originally first-placed from Cuba was disqualified. This decision was reversed retrospectively and Lyachowa had to be content with silver. At the World Championships in London a few weeks earlier, she was eliminated in advance .
