Jurij Volodymyrowytsch Tscheban ( Ukrainian Юрій Володимирович Чебан ; born July 5, 1986 in Odessa , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian canoeist .

Jurij Tscheban studied at the Pedagogical University in Poltava and was successful in numerous canoe racing competitions. He was at the 2007 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Duisburg and 2014 at the World Championships in Moscow champion in One-Canadian men's 200m and 2012 at the Summer Olympic Games in London Olympic champion in One-Canadian men's 200m . He was able to repeat this success at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , where he again won the gold medal.

Honors

Tscheban received several state awards from Ukraine, including the Order of Merit 3rd Class from the Ukrainian President in 2012 for his athletic achievements in the XXX. Summer Olympic Games in London .
