The 43rd Canoe Racing World Championship took place in the Czech city of Račice u Štětí from 23 to 27 August 2017 . The world championship was organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF).
A total of 39 competitions were held in the canoe and kayak disciplines . The distances of the regattas were 200 m, 500 m, 1000 m and 5000 m. Paracanoe was again part of the official competition program. Around 1100 athletes from 70 nations took part.

Paracanoeing
All paracanoeing competitions are held over a distance of 200 m. The classification of the boat classes is based on the mobility of legs, arms and trunk. There were twelve regattas in two boat classes and three start classes each.
