Lisa Carrington , MNZM (born June 23, 1989 in Tauranga ) is a New Zealand canoeist .

Carrington has Māori ancestors and belongs to the Iwi Ngāti Porou . She started water sports when her family moved to Ōhope on the Bay of Plenty . She got into canoe racing at the age of 16 when she attended a training camp run by Ian Ferguson . She is studying at Massey University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Māori Culture and Politics.

Lisa Carrington has competed internationally since 2009. Your strongest discipline is the kayak single over the 200 m sprint route. She became world champion over this route at the Canoe Racing World Championships 2011 in Szeged, Hungary . At the 2012 Olympic Games , Carrington competed in a single over 200 meters and in a two-person kayak over 500 meters. With Erin Taylor she reached seventh place in two. Two days later, Lisa Carrington became Olympic champion in kayak single . In 2016 she repeated her Olympic victory on the 200-meter course and also secured the bronze medal in the 500 meters.
