Peter Kretschmer (born February 15, 1992 in Schwerin ) is a German canoeist .

He started canoe racing in 2002 and starts for the KC Potsdam . Kretschmer is a police chief in the federal police . He lives in Potsdam .

In 2012, Kretschmer was able to qualify in the two-man Canadier 1000 m together with partner Kurt Kuschela for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London (Great Britain) after the duo competed against the 2011 World Champions Tomasz Wylenzek and Stefan Holtz at the 2011 World Cup race in Duisburg was able to prevail. Over this distance, he and Kuschela also won the gold medal at the games.
