Kurt Kuschela (born September 30, 1988 in Berlin ) is a former German canoeist .

Life

He began his sporting career in 1998. Since 2002 he has trained in canoe racing with the “Einheit” sports club in Spremberg . Kuschela is completing an apprenticeship as a professional firefighter . He lives in Potsdam and starts there for the canoe club Potsdam .

Athletic career

In 2012, Kuschela was able to qualify in the two-man canoe over 1000 m together with partner Peter Kretschmer for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London (Great Britain) after the duo against the 2011 World Champions, Tomasz Wylenzek and Stefan Holtz , at the World Cup Race in Duisburg had prevailed. Over this distance he and Kretschmer won the gold medal at the games.
