The rowing channel Račice ( Czech Veslařský kanál Račice ) is an artificial lake near the Czech municipality Račice (German Ratschitz ), which has been used as a regatta course for canoeing and rowing since 1986 .

history

For the junior rowing world championships in 1986, a rowing channel was built at the site of a sand pit in a loop of the Elbe near the village of Račice.

The most important event in Račice was the 1993 World Rowing Championships .

The Račice rowing channel has two lanes: a competition lane with a length of 2350 m and a width of 130 m, and a training lane with a width of 30 m.

Eight to nine lanes can be divided into competitions with an Albano system .

The main grandstand in the finish area of ​​the rowing channel has a capacity of 5000 seats.
