Daniel Jérent (born June 4, 1991 in Saint-Claude , Guadeloupe ) is a French sword fencer . He is an Olympic champion and multiple world and European champion.

successes

Daniel Jérent had his first international successes in 2013. At the European Championships in Zagreb he was runner- up behind Jörg Fiedler , and he also won bronze with the team at the World Championships in Budapest . The following year he won team gold at the World Championships in Kazan . Further titles with the team followed in 2015: Jérent became European champion in Montreux and won gold at the European Games in Baku . In addition, he secured bronze at the individual games. In 2016 he defended the European title with the team in Toruń . At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , Jérent took 17th place in the individual competition. With the team he reached the final after victories against Venezuela and Hungary , which was won against Italy with 45:31. Borel became Olympic champion together with Gauthier Grumier , Yannick Borel and Jean-Michel Lucenay . After the Olympic victory he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor . In Leipzig , Jérent became world champion with the team for the second time . The third team title followed in Budapest in 2019 .
