Csaba Fenyvesi

Csaba Fenyvesi (born April 14, 1943 in Budapest ; † November 3, 2015 ) was a Hungarian sword fencer and three-time Olympic champion .

Csaba Fenyvesi won his first international medal at the 1967 World Cup , when he and the Hungarian epee team won the bronze medal behind the Soviet and French teams. At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, Csaba Fenyvesi, Győző Kulcsár , Pál Nagy , Zoltán Nemere and Pál Schmitt won the final against the Soviet team, with Kulcsár and Nemere having won team gold in 1964 .

After silver in the 1969 World Cup behind the Soviet team, the Hungarians won the World Cup final against the Poles in 1970 with Sándor Erdős , Fenyvesi, Kulcsár, Nemere and Schmitt . In the individual decision Fenyvesi won the bronze medal, it should remain his only individual medal at world championships. After the Hungarians defended their world championship title in 1971 , they also won the final at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, with Erdős, Fenyvesi, Kulcsár, István Osztrics and Schmitt winning 8: 4 against the Swiss epee fencers.
