Jérôme Jeannet (born January 26, 1977 in Fort-de-France , Martinique ) is a former French sword fencer . He is an Olympic champion and was world and European champion.

successes

Jérôme Jeannet achieved his greatest successes with the team in particular. In singles, winning the 2007 European Championship was his best result. With the team he won the title in Moscow in 2002 and in Kiev in 2008 . At world championships he was four times world champion with the team: 2005 in Leipzig , 2007 in Saint Petersburg , 2009 in Antalya and 2010 in Paris . In 2007 and 2009 he won bronze in singles. Jeannet took part in the Olympic Games twice. In 2004 he reached the final in Athens with the team after victories over the United States and Germany . France won against Hungary 43:32, Jeannet was Olympic champion together with his brother Fabrice , as well as Hugues Obry and Éric Boisse . After the Olympic victory he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he repeated this success with the team that consisted of the Jeannet brothers and Ulrich Robeiri . In the final, the French team clearly defeated Poland 45:29. In the individual competition, Jeannet took tenth place.
