François Rom (born April 8, 1882 in Antwerp , † February 2, 1942 ) was a Belgian sword fencer .
successes
François Rom took part in two Olympic Games . At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 , he and Paul Anspach , Fernand de Montigny , Désiré Beaurain , Fernand Bosmans , Ferdinand Feyerick and Victor Willems won the bronze medal in the team competition with the sword. In the individual competition he was eliminated in the semifinals. In 1912 he reached the final round in Stockholm with the Belgian team, which he finished in first place with Henri Anspach , Paul Anspach, Robert Hennet , Jacques Ochs , Fernand de Montigny, Gaston Salmon and Victor Willems and thus became Olympic champion .
