Carlo Pavesi (born June 10, 1923 in Voghera , † March 24, 1995 in Milan ) was an Italian fencer who won four Olympic gold medals with a sword.

In 1950 he won his first world title with the Italian team. In 1951 he was second in the individual standings behind his compatriot Edoardo Mangiarotti , and in the team final both were defeated by the French. 1952 in Helsinki Pavesi first took part in the Olympic Games . He finished sixth in the individual standings, while Edoardo Mangiarotti won gold and Dario Mangiarotti won silver. Together they defeated the Swedes in the team final.

In 1953 Pavesi was back on the world championship team, until 1958 the Italians won every year. In 1954 Pavesi was again second behind Edoardo Mangiarotti in the individual standings, in 1955 he was third behind his compatriots Giorgio Anglesio and Franco Bertinetti .

After the first round of the playoff, each of the three had a win and a loss. It was midnight when Mangiarotti lost twice in the second playoff. Ultimately, Pavese won gold from Delfino and Mangiarotti.

At the age of 37 Pavese was once again in the winning team at the 1960 Olympic Games .
