Armand Massard
Armand Émile Nicolas Massard (born December 1, 1884 in Paris , † April 8, 1971 there ) was a French sword fencer.
At the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 he won the gold medal in the epee competition, and together with the French epee team he won the bronze medal.
Massard won a third Olympic medal in 1928 at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam , where he advanced to the finals with the French epee team, but was then defeated by the Italian team .
After his active career as a fencer , Massard began a career as a sports official. He held the office of President of the National Olympic Committee for France and was temporarily Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee . He was also President of the Fédération Française d'Escrime from 1943 to 1945 .
