Albert Jean Louis Ayat (born March 7, 1875 in Paris , † December 2, 1935 in Courbevoie ) was a French fencer .
successes
Albert Ayat took part in the Olympic Games in épée fencing in London in 1900 . In the fencing master's competition, he prevailed against his 53 competitors and became Olympic champion in this discipline, which was only held in 1900. He also qualified for epee fencing for amateurs and fencing masters , in which the four best-placed fencers in the competitions for amateurs and fencing masters met. Ayat won all seven battles and was Olympic champion in the open class.
His brother Félix Ayat and his cousin Gilbert Bougnol were also Olympic fencers. In the competition for fencing masters, Bougnol came second behind Ayat.
