Gilbert Bougnol , according to some sources also Émile Bougnol , (born August 31, 1866 in Saint-Myon , † October 20, 1947 in Rueil-Malmaison ) was a French fencer .

successes

Gilbert Bougnol took part in the Olympic Games in épée fencing in London in 1900 . He won the silver medal in the fencing master competition. He also qualified for epee fencing for amateurs and fencing masters , in which the four best-placed fencers in the competitions for amateurs and fencing masters met. Bougnol won two of his seven battles and shared fifth place with three other fencers.

His cousins Albert and Félix Ayat were also Olympic fencers. Ayat had taken first place in the competition for fencing masters before Bougnol.
