The Nakvak Brook is an approximately 72 km long tributary of the Labrador Sea in the north of Labrador in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .
River course
The Nakvak Brook flows through the extreme south of the Torngat Mountains National Park . It rises in the south of the Torngat Mountains at an altitude of about 940 m . It initially flows 10 kilometers in a south-westerly direction. He then turns east for the next 40 kilometers. For the last 20 kilometers, it flows south and flows into the north bank of the Saglek Fjord , an elongated bay on the east coast of Labrador. The Nakvak Brook drains an area of 844 km². At river kilometers 17.7 and 37.0 and 38.6 there are waterfalls with heights of 4.6 m, 9.2 m and 15.3 m. All three waterfalls are considered insurmountable for migratory fish .
Fish fauna
The arctic char occurs in the lower river system .
