Maurizio Randazzo (born March 1, 1964 in Santa Caterina Villarmosa ) is a former Italian sword fencer .

successes

Maurizio Randazzo was world champion with the team in Denver in 1989 , in Lyon in 1990 and in Essen in 1993 . He also won with her in 1985 in Barcelona silver and 1986 in Sofia and in 1997 in Cape Town bronze. He took part in the Olympic Games three times : in 1992 , he finished the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 15th place in the individual and fifth in the team competition. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta he was 18th in the singles, while he reached the final with the team, which Italy won 45:43 against Russia . In addition to Randazzo, Sandro Cuomo and Angelo Mazzoni became Olympic champions . Randazzo was able to repeat this success at the following games in Sydney in 2000 , when he won gold again with Paolo Milanoli , Angelo Mazzoni and Alfredo Rota . The Italians won the final game against France with 39:38 .

In 2000, Randazzo was appointed Commendatore of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic .
