Eugène Victor Olivier (born September 17, 1881 in Paris ; † May 5, 1964 ibid) was a French fencer , medic and university professor .

Life

Eugène Olivier took part in the 1908 Olympic Games in London . In the individual, he reached the final , in which he had to play off with four wins against Alexandre Lippmann and Robert Montgomerie . After a loss to Lippmann, he prevailed against Montgomerie and won the bronze medal. In the team competition, after victories over Denmark and Great Britain , the French team entered the battle for gold against Belgium , in which France remained victorious and became Olympic champion . In 1919 he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor , and in 1938 an officer .

Eugène Olivier was also Professor of Anatomy and taught at the Medical Faculty of Paris.
